Steve was my second-in-command and the first person I hired for my Barcelona team (even if Miguel technically joined a little earlier 😄). From day one, Steve became the designer I could always trust with the projects that required quick iterations, fast thinking, and reliable execution.
Anyone who has worked with Steve knows how easy-going he is, how methodical he works, and the level of professionalism he naturally brings to everything he does. Without Steve, there would be no Recurring Orders at Ocado Technology, and likely no Payments, Regulars, or Unattended Delivery experiences either. His impact across the business has been enormous.
What always stood out to me is his willingness to take on the most challenging projects without hesitation and still consistently deliver beyond expectations. He’s genuinely been one of the easiest people I’ve ever managed. At times, I even wondered whether he needed me at all. Still, working alongside him has always been a joy because he’s someone I would trust with absolutely any project, responsibility, or challenge.
I was incredibly lucky to build such a strong team at Ocado, surrounded by talented professionals and amazing people, and Steve represents that spirit perfectly. Not only because of his talent as a Product/UX Designer, but also because of the positivity, trust, and friendship he brought to the team every single day.
